We recommend rebuilding your transmission at the same time to handle the extra power. The Subaru conversion is the most popular however, if you need the extra pulling and climbing power especially at higher elevations the 1.8t and the TDI are really amazing options. We have a custom in-house built kit for the Volkswagen motors that alleviate the need for a raised bed, our kit also adds extra ground clearance.
